We do not share your name or email address with anyone. We require names and email addresses because this is how we make sure that the surveys are representative of the community. For the surveys to be of use, they need to be a good cross-section of the population. We compare those who take our surveys to the census and voter registration records. We verify that we have approximately the same gender ratios, same households with children, same age, same owner/renter ratios. The methods we use are explained in more detail on our methodology page. That is why we require the information.

Place check marks in the boxes of the types of emails you want to get from us and no check mark in the boxes for the type you do not want.  See below for a description of what each box means.

Emails

How do you want us to communicate with you?  We maintain three groups in our mailing list:

1. Important Community Surveys – Announcements about surveys that we strive to make representative of the community. Decision-makers have expressed an interest in discovering the opinions of those beyond the few people who show up at every meeting. Our surveys give you a convenient way at your own chosen time to express your thoughts. We hope everyone takes advantage of this opportunity to let their voice be heard.

2. Fun surveys – These are usually one-question surveys. We do them to keep people engaged as well as bring us all together with some light-hearted fun. They are not designed to be representative of the community.

3. Notices when we update our site – Do you want to receive notices anytime we make a new post on our website? After a community survey, we may make several website posts a week that analyze the survey data. When there is no active community issue, the posts will be less frequent. But, we may still make a few posts that reflect research we are doing about community issues.

4. Help create surveys – With some of the policy surveys that we do, we will ask for help in making sure that the survey is unbiased, asks appropriate questions, and provides for a full set of answers. If you would like to give us feedback as we design some of the important community surveys, please sign up.
